Meet Kenisha

My name is Kenisha McKenzie, and I am a high school educator who believes every student deserves to feel confident, capable, and supported in their learning. I currently teach Family and Consumer Sciences, where I enjoy helping students connect classroom concepts to real-life experiences while building independence, problem-solving skills, and self-confidence.

I hold a Bachelor of Science in Family and Consumer Sciences Education from North Carolina Central University and a master's degree from Johns Hopkins University. I am currently pursuing a Master of School Administration, which continues to expand my understanding of instructional leadership and effective student support. My classroom experience includes working with students with a wide range of learning needs, and I enjoy adapting instruction to help each student reach their full potential.

I enjoy working one-on-one with students because it allows me to meet them where they are, celebrate their progress, and tailor learning to their individual strengths. My goal is to create a positive, encouraging environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, taking risks, and growing in confidence.

Outside of the classroom, I enjoy serving my community, mentoring students through extracurricular organizations, and traveling.
