Meet Molly

My name is Molly Ellington and I am thrilled to work alongside students and their families through Engaged Minds! I am a veteran teacher with 22 years of experience in elementary grades, primarily working with 2nd, 3rd, and 5th graders. I have experience working with students possessing diverse needs including neurodivergent students, multi language learners, gifted learners, and students with learning disabilities. I believe that every student deserves the personalized support they need to grow and thrive! Building warm, positive relationships with students and their families is one of my favorite aspects of being a teacher and tutor. I love helping students work toward their goals and celebrating their successes both big and small!

I am currently a fifth grade teacher in Alamance County. My career in education began at age 16 when I started working at the after school daycare program at my local elementary school. That first job as a teenager sparked a passion for working with children, which ultimately led to a career spanning over two decades! Upon entering college, I was blessed to receive a Teaching Fellowship and later graduated with a degree in Elementary Education from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. I also earned a Masters Degree in Elementary Education from Elon University and achieved National Board Certification in Middle Childhood Literacy. In 2011, I was honored to be recognized as the Alamance-Burlington Teacher of the Year. I am trained in LETRS, Fundations, UFLI, and Heggerty.

In addition to teaching, I enjoy spending time with my family. My husband and I have four children and one precious grandchild. I love travelling, especially to Disney World (I am most definitely a Disney adult)! I also am passionate about my faith and enjoy participating in activities at my church. I am excited for the opportunity to work closely with your child and family!
