Meet Shardonay

Greetings, I’m Shardonay! I am a passionate educator and professional school counselor with over 8 years of experience supporting K–12 students thrive academically and personally. My educational background includes classroom teaching, small-group instruction, individualized academic support, and athletic coaching. I have been honored to serve in both public and charter schools across North Carolina, Virginia, and Washington, D.C.

Currently, as a school counselor, I work with diverse learners and students with a variety of learning styles. I believe in meeting students where they are and helping them grow through encouragement, structure, and meaningful learning experiences. I believe a “whole child” approach is what every student deserves, making learning engaging, positive, and empowering. I am skilled at integrating social-emotional learning to create safe environments where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and taking academic risks.

I have lived in the Triangle area for a decade. I am originally from Virginia, where I attended Norfolk State University and earned a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies. I also hold a master’s degree in School Counseling from Wake Forest University and a North Carolina Professional Educator’s License in K–12 School Counseling.

When I’m not working with students, I enjoy supporting school communities and student athletes. Growing up in a very family-oriented environment, I enjoy spending time with my family whenever I can. I also enjoy partaking in some of my favorite self-care activities, including fitness, music, and mindfulness.

I look forward to supporting your child’s academic success!
