Meet Taylor

Taylor taught elementary special education (EC resource) for six years in the public school setting. She has experience serving students with a variety of needs, including ADHD, autism, dyslexia, hard of hearing, mild and moderate intellectual disability, rare medical conditions, anxiety, and down syndrome.

Taylor believes every person is worthy of dignity and respect, and that the key to success is meeting each student where they are. She is passionate about helping struggling readers because she believes that every child has the right to literacy, and that the right support and intervention can help them gain confidence and access a world of infinite possibilities.

Taylor holds a Master of Arts in Teaching in both elementary education (K-6) and special education (K-12) from UNC Chapel Hill. She is a licensed teacher in North Carolina and has completed additional training in:

  • Wilson Reading System

  • Fundations Intervention Levels I and II

  • S.P.I.R.E

  • Sounds Sensible

  • Language Essentials for Teachers of Reading and Spelling (LETRS)

  • Reading Research to Classroom Practice (RRtCP)
