Meet Ali

I’m a veteran educator with extensive experience teaching at middle, high, and college levels. My primary focus is middle school Language Arts and Social Studies, and I’ve had the privilege of working with students from diverse backgrounds nationwide. I’m passionate about helping students build confidence in reading and writing, and I specialize in preparing them for success on state assessments.

My teaching philosophy centers on fostering strong vocabulary, reading comprehension, and writing skills. Over the years, I’ve found that students' understanding deepens when they can write effectively about what they’ve read. I often incorporate project-based learning to make lessons more engaging while helping students strengthen their executive functioning skills.

I believe patience, consistency, and encouragement are essential to helping students thrive. There’s nothing more rewarding than watching them grow into curious, capable, and confident learners.

I’m Nationally Board-Certified in Language Arts grades 5-9 and hold a license to teach language arts and social studies in grades 5-9 in North Carolina. I’ve also worked with the Wake County School District to design a Language Arts curriculum aligned with the Common Core Standards. I hold a Master’s in Curriculum and Instructional Management from North Carolina State University. I specialize in tutoring middle-grade reading comprehension, writing, end-of-course test preparation, and executive functioning skills.
