Meet Ashley
Hi, I’m Ashley! My teaching philosophy is grounded in the belief that all students deserve to feel seen, heard, and supported. I am passionate about creating joyful, intellectually engaging learning experiences that nurture confidence and curiosity. I bring a strong focus on social-emotional learning and differentiated instruction to my work as a private tutor.
After earning a bachelor of arts in sociology with a minor in Spanish from Binghamton University (SUNY), I spent three years in Galicia, Spain, teaching English as a second language to high school students. This experience deepened my passion for education and cross-cultural connection.
Since moving to North Carolina in July 2020, I have been teaching in independent schools, where I’ve used curricula and methods such as Orton-Gillingham, 95 RAP, Recipe for Reading, and Words Their Way. I have developed a deep commitment to supporting students and their families with diverse learning styles and needs.
In my free time, I enjoy playing tennis, going for long walks with my dog, and taking on fun baking projects.
