Meet Yolanda
Hello! I’m Dr. Yolanda Parker, a dedicated educator and lifelong learner with over 19 years of experience in elementary education. Originally from Kinston, North Carolina, and now a resident of Raleigh, I hold a Doctoral degree in Organizational Leadership with an emphasis in K-12 Leadership, as well as a Master’s in Curriculum and Instruction. My journey into education began while volunteering in schools, where I discovered a deep passion for supporting young scholars during their most formative years.
My teaching philosophy is rooted in the belief that children learn best by doing. I prioritize hands-on, play-based learning and social-emotional development, ensuring that every child—especially those with diverse learning needs—has the support required to thrive. Because every scholar learns at a different rate and in a different way, I specialize in individualized and differentiated instruction, constantly evolving my strategies to meet each student's unique style.
I view education as a partnership between the school, the home, and the community. I am committed to working closely with families to foster a love of learning that extends far beyond the classroom. When I’m not in the classroom or developing new curricula, I enjoy staying active through walking and exercise, traveling to the beach, and spending quality time with my family. I look forward to growing alongside your child this year!
